Kicking off on September 16th, the Maker Olympics is a semester-long series of exciting design, hardware, and presentation workshops culminating in a November Hackathon. The workshops are designed to introduce you to design and hardware concepts, build upon existing knowledge and expertise, and prepare you for the Hackathon and/or entrance into our 2017 Startup Competition.
Workshops include:
- Arduino
- Intro to CAD Design
- Photoshop & Illustrator
- Product Design/DFM/Patent Search
- Presentation (Public Speaking/PowerPoint)
- 3D Printing & Lasercutting
- Soldering
- Welding
*Students must register for the each event by clicking on the link. Tickets are generally $5, but the first 10 to register get in for free. You can also access club codes.
We encourage you to attend all workshops that interest you! And while each workshop is meant to get you ready for the Hackathon, you do not have to attend all (or any of them!) to enter the Hackathon.
Hackathon guidelines:
- Work on any project you like, as long as it’s a physical product
- You must register with at least one teammate
- There are prizes available for individuals and clubs
- Winners will also be considered for “fast track” status into the 2017 Startup Competition
